Our marriage was in crisis. Alecia did not take the time to walk us through our difficult journey with professionalism, insight, or by offering us tools with which we could overcome and heal our marital relationship - she just kept telling us to be nice to each other when what we needed was direct communication about what we needed to do to overcome the abuse within the relationship to achieve forgiveness and best behavior. Her repeated response was "be nice" and "what are you going to do about it?" implying we should get a divorce. She offered continual surface responses for deeper issues. We are still working through our 31 year marriage with the help of other providers. I do hope Alecia gets better training in how to help couples in crisis who want to salvage their relationship, especially when there is an abuse cycle, otherwise she should not be taking these types of cases on.
