Unethical. Discharged me on a technicality after 5 years of being a patient. To summarize, the office staff decided that the "24 hour cancellation policy" I signed in a slew of intake paperwork trumped my agreement with my NP about how I was to handle my next, extra, "just in case" appointment. I did exactly as planned with the NP, and got discharged for it.

I love Dr. Piedra. He is efficient, professional, ethical, and experienced with a great sense of humor, especially in the moments that are needed to lift my spirits. My sessions are focused and he is approachable with any questions and concerns I need to discuss. He’s encouraging as well as being very caring and thoughtful. I trust him and like that he treats me as an individual according to my needs. I never feel he’s rushing me out of his office and takes extra time if I need it. I feel very fortunate to have him as my psychiatrist.

Mariano Piedra's ethics are severely questionable. He put my life in jeopardy by having me detox from a benzo at an extremely uncomfortable and possibly life threatening rate and I will never forgive him for that. He is condescending, misogynistic, extremely unprofessional, judgemental, and accusational. If you want compassion and empathy when you are in your weakest/most vulnerable moments look elsewhere! Stay away if you don't want to suffer from unnecessary duress! His NP Sarah Luckhart is worse! Cold hearted people.

Was not there in a crisis situation when I was coming off of a drug I had been on for over 20years.Why do they have a crisis phone # and why did he call back only to tell me it was not appropriate to call at 4;30am and to call the office when it opened..All I wanted was someone to talk to,because, I had never had an attack like this which lasted for 12hours.,Someone needs to check this doctor out.Good at sitting behind his desk,but not in a crisis !
