I first want to state that I am from East Taunton and had to travel to the Brockton office because that was the one which took my insurance It was dark out and this building has tiny basement type windows and a sign that did not glow so it was very dark the parking lot was barely lit so I was 10 min late due to difficulty finding the building! which I apologized for right away I was filling out the paper work and asked a cpl questions about that and some other concerns I had and I was treated like I was annoying them like it was not there job to help me or something I was actually told by the Office manager that I was asking "to many UNNECESSARY questions when the doctor hasnt even examined her yet" So I was referred to this Chauvinist/orthodontist for a FREE consult by my daughters lovely kind and understanding Dentist Dr. Peter Bartel for a few reasons 1 being what her Dental Hygienist called "supernumerary teeth" or a extra tooth under the gum line. I was very concerned about this because I have a friend of which had naturally beautiful straight teeth and recently her extra tooth decided to make a visit and now she is paying about 8 grand for braces at 28 years old.. I was completely distressed during my appointment. I was unable to relax and ask questions. As far as their equipment goes it was made to look super fancy and as the orthodontist said when I asked where the extra tooth was that I saw in her other x-ray maybe it is just cause it was 2 different x-rays? "this is as good as it gets with a x-ray it covers everything from nose to chin neck the entire face, so I assure YOU she does not have a extra tooth you OBVIOUSLY MISUNDERSTOOD" It now begins to get worse it was clear that there welcome letter stating "the highest quality orthodontic care, in a friendly, caring and comfortable atmosphere" was bogus!! Clearly there are many types of dental x-rays for a reason he just didnt want to do the extra work & just because you put a shitty x-ray on a giant flat screen tv mounted to a wall does not make it the best I am a college educated woman MR. Orthodontist man! OK So I replied "I assure YOU I was told that she does I saw it on a x-ray & the doctor explained all about it with my child & myself"
I still cannot begin to comprehend what followed I was then told by Dr. Gaudreault "LISTEN I can give her dentist a call tomorrow and I am positive that you misunderstood what he was saying" Now this man was basically accusing me of being a absolute MORON, because as I proceeded to explain to him that in order to misunderstand something like this would basically be impossible considering I do ask a lot of questions (as the office manager rudely pointed out) and I actually questioned it myself & the dental hygienist kindly stated that we could have the Dr. Bartel take a closer look and he also confirmed it & explained to me that teeth are like bones and its common etc... AGAIN THIS MAN INSIST I MISUNDERSTOOD instead of just saying there was a mistake or maybe the dentist misunderstood the x-ray? He was very blatantly trying to insult my intelligent and would not move forward with the exam until I admitted I was the one who misunderstood! I was so embarrassed my child was humiliated when I finally (sarcastically) replied "ok fine maybe I misunderstood" He says "ok then" proceeds to put gloves on I assume to do the exam on my daughter which he didnt acknowledge once! as soon as he realized I was being sarcastic he threw down the gloves and screamed " I AM DONE WITH YOU" mean while the nurse in the room was in the back corner looking down at her shoes the whole entire TIME. NOBODY stood up in fact it was obvious he only had young good looking woman working for him now I see why.. If you are a young single mother with a brain you will not have a good experience I have filed a complaint and plan to sue! Because They don't treat their clients equally at all, and only make time for their favorites that was made very clear! If they don't like you then they could give 2 behinds if they even treat you with HUMANITY even my 9 year old daughter was treated rudely I started crying hysterically so confused and while I was composing myself in the restroom after being under minded and screamed at in front of my child, the nurse and other patients by Dr. Brian Gaudreault. I walk out of the restroom to find the nurse who had nothing to say in the room talking very badly about me and what happened to the receptionist with my daughter sitting right behind her! I was then called into the office of the "office manager" and told I needed to find another orthodontist that he was refusing to treat my child!!!! As I am still crying at this point asking "what did I do all I did was stick up for myself and I was not going to say I misunderstood something I was very clear on and so when I asked why her response was "you just are difficult to deal with and you need to leave now" I say "it what ways" she says "from the moment you walked in you have been nothing but difficult and you do not know how to communicate" I looked her in the eyes crying hoping to see some sort of empathy and said "I believe I did try communicating but it is impossible to communicate with any one who is acting ignorant and refuses to listen and when you refuse to listen and treat someone like they are a child and belittle and embarrass them in front of there child and many others that is not called communication its called discrimination because none of you know me so I am positive that I am very very capable of communicating but when I am repeatedly being told I misunderstood rather then just act like a professional would and leave it at I will ask her doctor tomorrow and find out" SHE gets up basically pushing me out again saying "you need to leave now" So as I was walking out with my child I asked the receptionist if there was a number I could call of a person higher up and make a complaint because this was outrageous they just wasted my time and embarrassed my child and myself. I was then approached in a very close intimidating way by this office manager who was now telling me I had to leave or she was going to call the cops on me my daughter started getting upset at this point. I said "you need to back away from me your making me uncomfortable&I was not speaking to you" she then screamed at me to leave this property or the cops will be called. I was crying clearly upset and being yelled at by this woman who was supposed to be a person of authority? I tried to ignore her and continue my question to the receptionist and she would not let her answer and got in my face saying “I AM THE MANAGER THE BOSS AND THAT DOCTOR OWNS THIS PLACE SO GOOD LUCK FINDING SOMEONE ABOVE US NOW LEAVE BEFORE I CALL THE COPS” in front of a few people in the waiting area and the receptionist and other staff and most important my child who by now was shuttering with fear and was begging me to “just go mommy there scary“ I was doing nothing that would have been considered threatening or abusive in any way for her to think she could call the cops on me. If anyone was being abused and bullied and threatened it was my daughter and I. I have a legal right to be given a real reason for why my daughter is being denied treatment! How dare you have no respect for another human beings rights never mind the rights of my innocent child. I was followed to the door and she had locked it behind us like we were criminals because there were still patients inside. I had never felt this way in my life I need someone to hear this story to prevent them from treating another person they judge to fast like this again. This is the most unprofessional place of business I have ever seen. I felt like the more I demanded answers for this treatment that was unfair the worse they treated me and I felt like I was being pushed to react in a violent way so they would have any reason to justify there actions however I was not giving them that or any reason for that matter and the less reason I gave the more angry she became. I knew exactly what she was trying to do and trust me that is probably the only reason I stayed as calm and nice as I did being treated so wrong. Then having to explain to my child what happened was awful. They say to “Trust your feelings! If you feel that something isn't right about the way you are being treated, that's reason enough to consider it discrimination”
Disgusting!!! NOT a place for children! I still have no idea why?
