I joined the faculty of the Division of Speech and Hearing Sciences in 2007. I bring with me a diverse background which includes a research career in basic science and many years advocating for children and communities in the non-profit world. My interests in cognition and hearing in aging, the genetics of hearing loss, and hearing loss prevention reflect this experience. I currently participate in clinical and classroom teaching with the students of the UNC Au.D. program, provide clinical services at the HCC, and work with the School Age Team at the Center for Development and Learning. I also organize and supervise elementary school hearing screenings. I am licensed in audiology in both North Carolina. I am a member of the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA), the American Academy of Audiology (AAA), the National Hearing Conservation Association, and the American Auditory Society.
