Accessible Home Health Care of the Bluegrass opened November 1, 2006 to care for the elderly and disabled in central KY. We are a licensed Personal Service Agency exceeding all the minimum requirements of the state of KY. Owners Bill and Kaye Hughes have won franchise of the quarter and caregiver of the year in 2007 as well as Community Involvement awards for both 2008 and 2009.

Mr/Mrs Hughes are on the planning committee for the annual conference “Meeting the Challenges and Opportunities of Aging” for 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010. Mr. Hughes was on the planning committee for the 2010 KY Association for Gerontology (KAG) conference held in Lexington.

We are members of the KAG, BBB, Commerce Lexington, and KY Association of Senior Services (KASS). KASS is a non-profit organization consisting of businesses serving the senior population.

Mr. Hughes is trained in Alzheimer’s care, trained as a trainer in Alzheimer’s care, and volunteered for 14 months at the Alzheimer’s Association’s “Best Friends Adult Day Facility”. Mr. Hughes was 1 of 10 people in the state of KY to be invited to the first ever training course “The Best Friends Approach to Dementia Care” by the Alzheimer’s Associations’ Teaching/Learning Institute.
