About

Jason Brinton, MD

Brinton Vision is dedicated to one goal -- changing lives through the priceless gift of sight. So much of what we love, we love with our eyes. There are too many beautiful things to see and experience to let contacts and glasses get in the way. Brinton Vision uses the most advanced, proven technology as part of our St. Louis LASIK practice to free patients of the hassles of corrective eye wear. Our practice is outcome-driven, meaning that we personalize our treatments so that each patient achieves their best possible vision and meets their vision goals.

Ask any of our Brinton Vision alumni what made their LASIK experience unique. You may hear about an empathetic staff member or a description of the extraordinary care and attention given to them through each step of the process. They will describe an experience that revolved around them and a staff who catered to their every need.

AMAZING:I feel as if there are so many individuals who I want to write this review for, but above all else I would simply say if you are even THINKING about having your vision corrected, I would/have already HIGHLY recommend Brinton Vision to friends, family, and coworkers. See *** below for my experience. For the past 2 decades I have been wearing contacts and glasses. As I eventually found out, I had been over corrected and my vision worsened each year. At the time of my Brinton Vision consultation (July 2017), my vision was approximately -7.00 and -8.00 with a slight astigmatism in both eyes. I had been told from other LASIK consults that my corneal layer was too thin for the procedure, which Dr. Brinton and his team concurred with. I had been at this point in my life 5 years previous when civilian and Air Force doctors told me that corrective eye surgery was just not an option for individuals like me. It’s hard to describe why this was so devastating then and now. I am a very active spirit. I love to be in motion: kayaking, running, hockey, soccer, weightlifting, fishing, swimming, and essentially anything that takes me outdoors and up/out late is just who I am. If you can relate to anything you have read so far you know that glasses and/or contacts make all these activities harder. I am grateful because without them I would never been able to do these things but they also become a burden: You cannot get caught out without your contact cases or face the dreaded dry eye; contact solution is also a must; spare contacts/glasses, straps to keep your glasses on, and separate prescription sunglasses are also yearly considerations ( $$$) and so on. After a while you may have started to think that you are simply destined to have poor vision and/or eye health if you become lazy with your prescription for the rest of your life. This was a hard emotion to grapple with as a 2nd grader and even as an adult. My story is for all or any of you who can relate: There is HOPE. Unlike in years past, after being told LASIK was not a safe option for me, Dr. Brinton and his team of professionals told me I would make a solid candidate for the ICL or SMILE procedures and that they were optimistic they could correct my eyes even better than my glasses had been doing! There are a lot of qualified surgeons in the St. Louis and surrounding areas and you could definitely pursue those options if your budget or location makes those convenient as I once pursued. HOWEVER, if you want your journey to better vision to be done as thorough, efficiently, and as compassionately as possible, the first time, I can recommend none more qualified than Brinton Vision. They have the equipment, training, and compassion that supersedes all others I consulted with. You will feel their genuine belief that what they do changes lives for the better from the moment you walk in. I have never met a group of individuals who have come into my life so rapidly and just as quickly changed it so dramatically for the better. The team at Brinton will walk you through every step of the process until you know the science and reasons behind each decision to ensure you also KNOW why those decisions are being made. As an educator myself, I really appreciated this.***I went in for my consult on a Monday, met with Dr. Brinton myself that same day, and was having my vision corrected by the end of the week! Do not be mistaken, I did not feel like a number being crunched out: these appointments were long and we discussed much each time. My experience (SMILE procedure) was pain-free and was even considered a “tricky one” by Dr. Brinton! My vision the day of my surgery was approximately 20/400 in both eyes (legally blind). It has been about 15 days since my surgery and I currently seeing roughly 20/12.5 in both eyes with almost no dry-eye or irritation complications. It feels as if my overall vision is getting better every day I wake up and step outside. I know from experience and talks that money is probably the biggest reason we put off LASIK or corrective surgery but trust me, I am neither rich nor working with a large budget. However, financing was a breeze and is costing less than a car payment a month with no early pay-off fees. To this end, I would say that when it comes to a decision that is as big as your ability to see, make the wisest decision you can and think of the cost secondary so that you are happy with your results first and foremost. After all, they are YOUR eyes you will have to live with for the rest of your life. Whatever the reason you are hesitating to pursue corrective surgery, PLEASE rest assured, if you choose Brinton Vision, you will be in good hands. Going here has been liberating to my lifestyle and was handled with such unbelievable care. I discovered and made my decision to go with Brinton Vision through the overwhelmingly positive reviews found here online and so I hope my story also helps you gain perspective in whatever decision you make.P.S. To nerd out a bit, I recently took my eyes out for a stroll at the Missouri Botanical Gardens and was able to see with such magnificent color and detail, a pollinating bee on its hind legs slip off a flower petal. When it hit me that I was able to see this all happen from over 15 feet away, I actually cried on the spot and still get choked up thinking about it…Thank you to Chelsea, Nicole, Allison, Clay, Joey, Dr. Brinton and everyone at Brinton Vision for giving me that moment of unfiltered, visual freedom. You have changed my life!!!
