I took my wife to Dr. Jack Gregory on 11/18/14 for help with depression and anxiety. He gave what seemed to be a nice assortment of ideas. At the end of the session we asked if he took Medicare or insurance, (Blue Cross, etc.). He did not. What about a credit card? No. Cash or check only. Luckily I had the cash, ($125.00), on me. At the time we made the appointment there was no mention of the method of payment. When we arrived for it, again, nothing was said. Only after the session was completed did he ask for payment. He has no secretary and we have to bill Medicare and Blue Cross on our own. We were so flabbergasted we didn't get a receipt, Dr. Gregory did say he would mail it to us. We did get the receipt, however I feel it was unethical and irresponsible to not be informed at the time of first contact.

Upon leaving his office my wife expressed her concern that we would not be reimbursed from both Medicare and Blue Cross for months. He said, "I know, that is why you don't see a secretary in my office. I don't want to wait either for my payment". This is his prerogative, but a doctor should let a first time patient know this in advance. He doesn't seem to understand that for low or fixed income people this could be a hardship.

Also It only made my wife's anxiety worse. I called Medicare and found out that it takes approximately 60 days for payment to be made, and, if Medicare says they will not pay for this service it may up to 150 days to let us even know.

The entire time I was there, Jack's entire attention was focused on me. I felt very cared for. I don't think I have ever been put on hold here for a long time and am so impressed with how quickly all of my questions are answered. There's nothing worse than having to wait on hold for a half an hour just to get someone to talk to you. He was always very considerate and professional. I didn't have to wait at all after I arrived for my appointment. He was running right on time, which is a really big deal for me.
