She graduated as an M. D. at the University of Bs. As. and went through training in psychiatry at the University of Cincinnati Medical College in 1991.

After working at the University of Miami as a clinical assistant professor for several years, and working as the psychiatric Chief of outpatient services at Lutheran Medical Hospital in Brooklyn, NY, she opened her private practice: Center for Self-Development.

Dr. Buki provides a professional, confidential, and respectful environment, conducive to understanding symptoms, emotions, thoughts, and situations, as well as finding the options available to resolve or manage them. Dr. Buki provides the environment for the patient to learn to take charge of his or her own life

Dr. Buki is a psychiatrist trained in psychotherapy and psychopharmacology. She works with patients applying elements of cognitive-behavioral, interpersonal, psychodynamic, and rational –emotional therapy, to treat depression and anxiety disorders.

Dr. Buki holds an outpatient practice in Aventura, Fl. She is member of the council of Florida Psychiatric Society, a fellow APA member,the district branch of the American Psychiatric Association, current member of the Ethics Committee and the Disaster Preparedness Committee.
She has given lectures on: The Suicidal Patient, Mood Disorders, Suicide as Self-Violence, Women and Depression, Suicide Assessment, Relation to Anxiety and Mood Disorders, presented at the Department of Psychiatry of the University of Miami, and at Lutheran medical Center in NY, and practice management issues.

She has written about treating the elderly, and collaborated in chapters about psychiatric aspects of pain, post-traumatic stress disorder, psychiatric emergencies and cathecholamines and mania. She also collaborated in research regarding depression and diabetes.
She participated in the national Depression Screening Day campaign in several occasions working with NAMI, and currently is a Red Cross Mental health volunteer.
