I suppose if you have never experienced exceptional pediatric care and are satisfied with people who only look at you as a paycheck, then you will be happy here. I have spent over 25 years working with some of the top pediatric medical staff in the state of Arkansas and can say beyond doubt that the children & youth clinic does not even rate 2 out of 10.

It should never take over 6 weeks to get a well-child appointment or over 3 days to get a sick child appointment. When you are checking in, the front desk staff should NEVER disclose HIPPA protected information, ESPECIALLY when there are 10 other families in line to check-in! HIPPA laws are there for a reason, and it appears this clinic never bothered to learn them. I also overheard 2 nurses speaking in extensive detail about another patient after they left the door to our exam room open then stood in the hall gossipping about that patient.

The lab attendants are rough with the patients. There is NEVER a reason for grab a toddler by the face or legs hard enough to leave marks! Work with the parents....especially when the parent tells you they have training and experience and can gather the sample needed without distress to the child!

Finally, and IMHO the main reason why the above incidents (and more not listed) are allowed to happen.......Phyllis Heinemann stated to me that she does not like children. She *never* wanted to have her own children, and she does not like other people's kids. WHY on Earth would someone who blatanly confesses to disliking children become a pediatrician?!?!?!

If you truly want top quality care for your children, extensively research this clinic with multiple sources and make an informed decision. If all you care about is getting a child's school physical or immunizations, then this clinic is probably for you. Just be forewarned.
