Allows his personal feelings to intrude into his work. I cannot think of a more damning review for a psychiatrist.

Dr. Geddes is an old-style Freudian psychiatrist, who prefers a very clinical and cold style of psycho-therapy. He himself says very little during sessions, but gets patients to talk at great length about areas of discomfort within their own lives. He focuses rather exclusively on bringing out deeply rooted conflict within a patient, but gives precious little advice for finding solutions and starting the healing process. I never got much feedback when I asked Geddes my own sets of questions; rather therapy proceeds to Geddes' agenda, which is mostly about diagnosis and medication. Prospective patients exercise caution, because Geddes prescribes very heavy regimes of medication, and does not give much thought to the fog and incapacitating effects that medication can have. In short summary, Geddes is throwback to an earlier generation of psychiatrists, who treated people as things to be diagnosed and medicated, rather than as living & feeling beings with problems that could be solved with some basic care.
