They never take that extra step to make me feel special. I haven't ever felt that they care enough to get to know me and that I'm almost an irritation. Whenever I have a question, even if it's very basic, they always make me schedule an appointment, which is extremely frustrating. They definitely didn't have enough staff members on hand. It seemed like one person was trying to do everything, and I ended up waiting for a very long time. They were extremely late to all my appointments. I always had to wait over an hour for them to show up. One thing that's been so annoying about Shah Associates, is that they always end up postponing my appointments. I'm usually not even notified that they're going to postpone it until less than an hour before my scheduled appointment.

On Friday, December 14th I was referred to Dr. Kahn, a gastroenterologist, at the St. Mary's Medical Center in Charlotte Hall, MD. I was scheduled for an appointment for December 17th, at 1:30pm. Upon arriving 15 minutes early for my scheduled appointment, I was unable to locate Dr. Kahn or the Gastroentology office because there were no labels for either of them. I had to guess the correct office by process of elimination. After walking around and looking for the appropriate facility, I learned that no one was going to be available to help me (or the other people in the waiting room) in the entire medical facility until 2pm because everyone was at a holiday party!

My appointment should not have been scheduled during any time that the office was closed. Since my appointment had been scheduled only one business day prior, I cannot fathom any way in which someone could have forgotten about the party when making my appointment. When the office staff eventually showed up with their presents, they were unsympathetic and refused to apologize for the inconvenience. I was not signed in for my 1:30pm appointment until after 2:00pm and was not seen by a doctor until 2:30pm. I had to wait well over an hour for my appointment, which is completely unacceptable! When I finally saw Dr. Kahn, she was very nice and did a good job.

To top it all off, I was prescribed a medication during my appointment and it was not called into my pharmacy that day. I was told to start using medication that evening, but due to negligence I was not able to take it that night. I had to take the initiative to call the doctor re-request that my prescription be sent my pharmacy the following day.

This is the most unprofessional and disorganized doctor's office that I have ever been to.

I tried to contact Shah associates regarding my visit, but I received no response to the email that I sent.
