I thought I was getting quaility care from Dr. Sarchisian but I soon discovered otherwise! I went into premature labor and went to Mercy Hospital for two days in a row and she basically told me that I wasn't in labor (which I was!) and that I would just have contractions for the remaining 6 weeks of my pregnancy. That evening I was still having heavy contractions and my husband said forget that doctor, let's just go to Methodist Hospital. When we went there sure enough they told us that I was in labor. That's not even the worst of it! I have a negative blood type. This is something very routine that each doctor checks at the beginning of the pregnancy so that they can administer a Rhogam shot (look it up) at 28 weeks and upon delivery. Dr. Sarchisian and her team never looked into this, never told me about it, and never gave me the Rhogam shot at 28 weeks!!!! This put me at risk of potentially never having any more children in the future. When I went to Methodist they asked me right away if I had had the Rhogam shot and of course I had no idea what they were talking about because my doctor had never even mentioned to me that it was something I NEEDED. An OB is given a huge responsibility of protecting both the baby and the mother and I feel that Dr. Sarchisian and her team took that responsibility lightly and for granted. Yes, she has a nice personality but what an OB really needs to be is thorough and proactive and Dr. Sarchisian is definitely not that! I am sharing this experience so no one has to go through what I went through :(
