I originally chose Boyd and Boyd about 9 years ago as my dental provider when I moved to the area. I started with Cynthia Boyd, who was very caring and I thought pretty good. Over the years I noticed that she participated with me less and less, and it was her husband that I saw. I also noticed that more and more technicians were doing all the cleaning and I'd only ever see the one of the dentists for a quick tongue lift and inspection. I started feeling like I was getting less care, especially when they swapped me to her husband. He would run in and then out. At my last appointment they didn't take x-rays, they used a long-handled camera to look at my fillings. Dr. Boyd (male) came in and told me that many were bad and that at least 5 would need fixing. He then said he'd contact me with a "plan." He never called, nor did his office. Finally I just decided something felt "off." They seemed more concerned with new technology and a quick visit than me.

I went to a new dentist and she said my teeth were great, no plaque, looked wonderful and that the fillings needed watching but they were OK. Then she looked at my X-rays. She said I had 6 cavities! I asked how that could be, I'd been going to the same dentist and he'd never seen them. She told me that they were between my teeth. My outer teeth were great, but I wasn't flossing properly. She looked in my insurance dental records and told me that Boyd and Boyd hadn't taken an X-ray for 2 years, and they easily could have seen them. Two cavities were there for quite a while and one could even be felt with the pick during cleaning.

Now I get to have 6 fillings, pain, and a lot of work, because the dentists at Boyd and Boyd were in too much of a hurry to take X-rays or check records. I'm really frustrated. Save yourself some time and upset, avoid these guys.
