Disgusting place, horrible staff. In 2010 my mother was hospitalized for a week and then needed to go to a nursing home. Made the mistake of putting her here. After 2 nights I had to get her out. The place wreaked of urine, the carpet was gross and nasty, the window in the room wouldn't close all the way, I could go on about the facility itself. The staff was beyond lazy, they sat in the hallway doing nothing. My mother was in a room with another woman who was basically out of it. She had constant visitors, so we would pull the curtain between her and my mother. Staff would come in and yank the curtain back and tell us it needed to staff open. I moved her to Robinson Nursing Home. She was there only a short time, she passed about a month later, but while she was there the staff was kind and attentive. The facility was clean and was undergoing a freshening up with new, very nice furniture. Thank God I was able to get my mother out of that hell hole, Lakewood Nursing Center, for her final days.

I was a patient in 2011, after surgery. The care I received there was excellent. I was often not cooperative, not because I didn't want to be but because I seem to get weaker and sicker every day. I had constant nausea and felt like my life was slipping away. There was one incident when one of the nurse's aide who was obviously having a bad night, yanked me out of bed causing my surgical incision to reopen. It was not swept under the rug, as soon as they took my report, she was fired. I have nothing negative to say about Lakewood. The staff was kind and compassionate, despite the fact that I was a difficult patient. They took excellent care of me and thanks to them, I'm still here and getting stronger every day
